Falcon Palace Hotel

The room had been sold before we got there. When I asked the receptionist for his name, he started yelling at me so aggressively that I felt unsafe and called the police. I ended up going to another hotel in a police car in the middle of the night. Also, every positive review I saw was from someone with only one or two reviews. Those reviews are fake.

The rooms are decent for the price, and there’s a city center and two shopping malls nearby to pass the time before a connecting flight. I stayed overnight because I landed late at Sabiha Gokcen airport, about five minutes away. Okan bey and the rest of the staff were friendly and attentive. My plans changed, so I needed to stay two hours past my reservation time, and they let me do that free of charge.

I booked through the otelz application and paid at check-in, but the app still hasn’t been updated to show I stayed there. I could end up being charged twice. I got my room key at 17h, which is worth knowing. The reception guy looked at my girlfriend in the bathroom mirror while giving me the Wi-Fi password. Now I’ve heard another guy sent her an Instagram request. We give our documents for protection, not so staff can find us on Instagram. They don’t know English, but apparently they can read a name well enough to add someone.

The bathroom wiring was dangerous: the hairdryer was wired straight into an outlet with exposed wires. Cigarette butts also came up when I ran the sink. The towels were damp, the pillows smelled, the toilet seat came off, and the light switch was broken. There were no blankets, and the quilt they brought had no cover. There was no Wi-Fi either.
