Nik's Taksim Hotel

The staff were great and let us check in earlier than expected, which really helped after our travels. Our room was clean, roomy, and had good amenities, and New Taksim Hotel is conveniently close to everything we needed in Istanbul. I wish they offered complimentary breakfast. There’s already a restaurant space that could be used for it, even if the daily rate had to go up a little. We had a fantastic stay and I’d recommend it.

I spent five hours trying to sort out this booking between the hotel’s management, Agoda, and Priceline, and nobody offered a solution. They also refused to waive the full booking cancellation penalty. I booked through Priceline after calling to check about the advertised free airport shuttle and double beds. The hotel said it would send a shuttle, but the day before I arrived I was told it would cost an extra 90 Euros. I’d also asked whether double beds meant two beds. The front desk person seemed confused and didn’t speak much English, but assured me I’d selected the right room. Afterward, I learned they had no rooms with two beds, only a double bed about the size of an American full. If you’re American or new to Turkey, don’t book here. Save yourself the time, headache, and money.

The staff made our four-night stay, especially Sa’id, who was so friendly and went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the location was great, about 10 minutes down the hill from most tourist attractions. It was quiet at night too. Thanks for everything!

It was quiet at night, away from the hustle and bustle, but still easy to reach by public transport. The staff were very friendly and spoke good English, and the room was cleaned every day and very clean. I paid about 1300 TL a day, which felt like good value. The room is small, but as a tourist I only needed it to sleep and use the bathroom. The shower, cupboard, fridge, and locker all worked well. The AC was the one problem, since it was very noisy. It’s near Sishane metro station, and the other parts of Taksim are a 20-minute walk away. You can take the metro to the Sultanahmed area.
