Ferman Konak Hotel - Special Class

We had to pay for rooms we never stayed in, and they refused to refund us when we pushed for one. The staff were unhelpful and unwilling to accommodate us. Avoid this place.

We had no electricity overnight, and the room was unbearably hot without air conditioning. Even with the window open, we sweated all night. It was July, so paying for a room without air conditioning made no sense. The hotel said power would return at 6 a.m., and reception was arrogant about it. They only called after we'd checked in to say we had five minutes of electricity left. We were still sorting our things, hadn't showered, and hadn't charged our phones. They said their generator couldn't run because of the noise, and cut the power completely, leaving us without lights, AC, ventilation, or charging. The “deluxe double room” felt like a scam: the layout differed from the booking photos, it was cramped, and I could barely reach the left side of the bed without hitting the TV. The air smelled of cigarettes, drainage was so bad that a five-minute shower could flood the bathroom, one bulb was out, and the AC was very weak. The area's power supply was extremely unstable, and the hotel surely knew in advance but didn't tell me. For anyone looking near tourist spots, book anywhere other than Ferman Konak Hotel. Even the street would be better than this awful place.

The staff were the best part of my stay. They were wonderful, friendly, and helpful, making conversation and answering all my questions. It's the best customer service I've ever had. As a woman traveling alone, I always felt safe, and the room was clean and comfortable. The location is great: Sultanahmet is a quick walk away for trams and metro connections across the city, and in the other direction there's a short walk to a lovely waterfront path. Thank you!

Berat welcomed us at check-in with real warmth and professionalism, and his helpful guidance made us feel at home right away. Emirhan also went above and beyond throughout my stay. He handled every request warmly and efficiently, often anticipating what I needed before I said anything. His care and welcoming smile made me feel looked after and made a big difference. Ferman Konak Hotel has a charming historic feel, beautiful wood architecture, and carefully chosen decor that blends tradition with comfort. The location was superb and the rooms immaculate. I'd highly recommend it for a visit to Istanbul, and I'd gladly stay again. Special thanks to Emirhan and Berat for helping make the trip memorable.
