Flex Houses

Gurkan deserves special credit for making our stay memorable. He was very kind and understanding. The rooms were excellent, and the customer care was great. Everything we asked for arrived on time. It was clean, quiet, and very safe, right next to Ortakoy mosque, with a lovely evening view.

The neighborhood was lovely, and we especially enjoyed the view from the third-floor balcony. The apartment itself was nice too. But the supplies and service were a real letdown. We arrived to an overflowing trash can and no toilet paper, and although we’d booked for three, there were only two towels. There was just one blanket, without a cover. We raised these issues and got no response beyond being told the staff had already left the building. It had some thoughtful touches, but I wouldn’t book it again.

The host was friendly and helpful, and the flat was clean. Flex Ortakoy is a great base if you like getting around on foot: it’s about a minute from Ortakoy Mosque and the ferry, with buses too, and the ferry can take you around Istanbul. The area is beautiful, with lots of cafés, restaurants, and a supermarket nearby. Tourist spots are close as well.

I’d have cancelled if I hadn’t already paid. I had a lot of bags, and there was no parking. The elevator only served floors 1 to 3, while our apartment was on the 4th. We had to carry everything up the stairs between floors 0 and 1, and again from 3 to 4.
