Frame Galata Hotel

I cancelled because the room was in such bad shape, but they wouldn’t refund me. There wasn’t even a proper lobby, which added to the unprofessional feel. The room was filthy, with mold in several spots, cobwebs up by the ceiling, and peeling laminate flooring that made the place seem badly maintained and unhygienic. Disgusting, just avoid. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The reception staff were incredibly kind and helpful, and the price was very good for a location close to everything. The room had what I needed, including a fridge, air conditioning, and a TV. For a short night, the sheets, towels, and pillows were clean and in good condition. The walls and ceiling had some mold, though, and the toilet was only a 4/10. I had to clean parts of it myself before I could use it. I appreciated my stay.

Sharif and the rest of the team made the stay feel special. Sharif helped with our bags, got our room ready early, and even brought our luggage to the taxi after letting us know it had arrived. The staff were so nice. The old style building is right in central Istanbul, just 2 minutes from Galata, and the location is ideal. Our cosy room had a comfortable bed, plenty of lights and towels, and we slept well. Breakfast was included, a cute extra that’s pretty rare in Istanbul even though you don’t need it. I’ll stay here again when I return. Huge thanks to Sharif and the team. I’d give Frame Hotel 6* if I could 👏🏻

Please avoid this hotel. I booked through booking.com for 11-16 December, with free cancellation and payment at the property advertised. I cancelled within an hour because I found a better hotel for less, but they charged my credit card during that hour without my consent. Booking.com told me the hotel had charged it inappropriately, and the hotel said booking.com would refund me. I still haven’t received my money. I’ve added my communication with the hotel to the booking.com site. I’ve visited Istanbul many times with my wife, and this location is loud, with shops and bars nearby making it noisy even at 2am. Don’t lose your money here, find somewhere better. There are plenty of good hotels and other places to stay.
