Galley Mini-hotel

The neighborhood cats were a highlight for me. They’re iconic and so precious, and I really hope guests buy them food and feed them. It’s a 15-minute walk to the Blue Mosque, the view is everything, and the staff really care. Just book it. I stayed more than two weeks, and the room was spotless, which says a lot coming from a clean freak. It did exactly what I needed, and the sea view was worth what I paid. I’d spent weeks researching because I wanted a sea view and balcony without paying a fortune. The Galley Hotel isn’t trying to be the Ritz. It feels authentic, reliable, warm, and like a real home away from home. When I booked through Expedia, they got in touch right away to help arrange airport transfers at fair prices, which took the stress out of arriving. As a Muslim woman traveling solo, safety was non-negotiable, and I felt completely safe and respected from the moment I arrived. Ali at the front desk deserves a massive shoutout. His professionalism and the way he looks out for guests are on another level. He made sure I was settled and taken care of every day, and he’s why a good stay became unforgettable. They also generously let me use the communal kitchen whenever I needed it, which made a big difference during my two weeks there. The room was spotless, but the Metro train is right outside the sea view room. My noise-canceling headphones were a lifesaver. Light sleepers should consider that, though I don’t think traffic noise is an issue in the other rooms. Save your money and use the nearby local laundromat. It’s easier and way cheaper than hotel laundry.
