Laleli Gonen Hotel

We wanted a relaxing honeymoon at Laleli Gonen Hotel, but things went badly right from arrival. A staff member grabbed my suitcase without asking, apparently to pressure me into tipping. When I declined, he gave me a dirty look and muttered, “Hah, tourists!” It was unprofessional and set a terrible tone. Our room was a big disappointment and didn’t look like the booking site pictures. It smelled awful, and the only window faced a solid wall. There was practically no sound insulation, so it was hard to rest. Breakfast was poor, and the amenities didn’t make up for the low quality or service. The hotel is far too expensive for what it offers. You can get a much more beautiful, relaxing, and welcoming hotel for the same money. Not recommended.

We’d had a terrible time at another hotel, but this one was available, so we moved here. What a difference! The experience was amazing, with really friendly staff, very clean rooms, and a great morning buffet. Would recommend 10/10!

The smell wasn’t great, and the shower was just as bad as the floor. The floor was really, REALLY sticky and disgusting, hard to describe how nasty it was. Luckily I spent most of my days outside. The area is relatively “good,” but that doesn’t make the place any better. Staff were sometimes really rude and disrespectful. I do not recommend it. Avoid at all costs.

We didn’t complain when work was done during the week, but waking up on Sunday morning to hammering, drilling, and construction directly above us was completely unacceptable. It was a weekend, a Sunday! The management refused to stop the work, which was extremely unprofessional and unethical. Their only suggestion was to change rooms. So I was expected to get dressed, repack all my things, and move while the work carried on and disturbed guests. Worst management and experience ever. Do they understand what hospitality means?
