HMZ Luxury Hotel

It’s a cozy, nice hotel, though a little far from the main tourist sights. Things in Turkey also felt a bit expensive.

This has become a terrible memory, and I regret booking here for my family. We chose it because it was close to our home on Istanbul’s Asian side, making it easy to take a taxi and meet relatives who had flown in from abroad. We had paid in advance, expecting to spend time together without an extra charge of 600 TL per day. But an employee told me we’d have to pay 600 TL to stay for about three hours, just to talk and relax with our family. I’ve booked many hotels, and nothing like this has happened before. On an earlier stay at a hotel on Istanbul’s European side, the staff understood our situation and let us stay and talk for three hours without charging an extra service fee. I believed the reviews here, but only understood the hotel’s service attitude after experiencing it myself. The employees spoke very badly and behaved impolitely. I used to think Turkish people were helpful and kind, so I’m very sorry this happened. I’ll tell the tour group I know and the foreigners I know not to use this hotel.

I spent one night here while travelling and came away disappointed. I don't understand why its rating is so high. I’d put it at two stars, never four. The windows wouldn't close completely, so there was a lot of noise from outside.

The hotel itself was really wonderful, but the service fell short of what I expected. Our bedroom wasn't fixed on two days, and we waited 30 minutes for breakfast. With a few small adjustments, I think it could be a nice hotel.
