Hotel Vera

The location was handy for the main attractions, though a bit loud. The service was nice, and they cleaned the room every day. Breakfast was okay, but the room was in poor shape. Twice, pieces of the wall fell while we were sleeping. A couple in the next room smoked. We told the receptionist, but nothing was done, so they kept smoking. In the morning they left their door open, and the whole hallway smelled bad. A nice and not-so-nice experience.

I stayed one night. The room size seemed standard for Sultanahmet and was fine for one person, with a clean bathroom. Staff were nice and helpful. It's in a good spot between two tram stations, and both mosques are within walking distance. The main street nearby made it noisy, so I wouldn't recommend it for light sleepers. After the first night I had rashes on different parts of my body. I don't know if they were from bedbugs 😭😭😭.

The bed was so good I slept like a baby, and I loved the breakfast. My room had a good hot shower, TV channels, a boiling pot, and a fridge. The standard room was enough for one person, though some people might find the rooms small. The hotel is right in the middle of the action while still giving you privacy. The staff were the best part. They were helpful and went out of their way, even bringing Turkish coffee and Turkish delights without expecting anything back. They also gave tips for getting around and arranged reasonable airport transfers. No tricks, just sincere hospitality. Highly recommended.

I was only in Turkey for 20 hours during a layover, and the staff made the logistics easy. They communicated clearly, were thoughtful and friendly, and even coordinated with my driver for the private airport transfer. I really appreciated how kind they were, especially since I was a bit worried about getting around. Hotel Vera was an easy choice after its positive Booking reviews. The location was ideal for walking to attractions, food, and shopping. I arrived around 9pm and found plenty of late-night food within a 5-minute walk. The room was clean and matched the Booking pictures. Breakfast was tasty and well organized, and the little disposable cups meant I could take my tea while walking around Istanbul.
