The staff did let us use another room to rest when we arrived very early, before ours was ready, and I appreciated that. The location was fairly good too. But the noise outside was extreme, and with no soundproofing we could hear people shouting and everything else all night. We stayed eight nights, and our room was cleaned only once, after I asked. Even then they said I had to leave my key with them, which was a first for me since other hotels I've used had a spare for housekeeping. I had to ask for toilet paper and other amenities myself. There was no lift, and carrying luggage up and down to our third-floor room was difficult. The room was filthy, with dirt across the walls and ceiling. The bathroom had mould and a horrible sewer smell that made me want to throw up whenever I went in. Showering there was really uncomfortable. The light switch was broken, WiFi barely worked, and the old-style door locks made me uncomfortable. One stair from the second to the third floor broke and I slipped and injured my knee. It wasn't repaired while we were there, and another step was cracking and breaking too, which didn't feel safe. I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it to anyone travelling to Istanbul.

I'm not sure how this place has a rating above four stars. Our room was small, uncomfortable, and felt dirty. There wasn't even toilet paper or cups for coffee or tea when we arrived, and we had to kill a cockroach. Like other reviews said, the shower was mouldy and smelled bad. The cheap windows also let in a lot of street noise.

The room had the basics covered: a cooler, tea maker, refrigerator, clean beds, a toilet and bathroom, and windows with clean curtains. It was clean and quiet, with no rubbish or other abusive materials. I stayed five days and thought it was a nice hotel to suggest for a trip. The young staff were polite and didn't bother us asking for extra money, but they didn't speak English. It's in Istanbul's Fatih section near Yenikapi Metro. There were a few drawbacks: no slippers for the room or bathroom, weak lighting, a TV with no signal, and nowhere to dry washed clothes.

The Georgian cleaner was kind and helpful. She explained where my husband might be able to buy paracetamol over the weekend, and brought us extra towels and whatever else we needed. The location was good too. The floor was really dirty. There was lots of mould in the shower and wc, and the shower room had no working ventilation. The photos showed a kettle, cups, tea, and coffee, but in reality there was only a kettle.

Everything around here is within walking distance, so there was no need for transport. The room and bathroom were among the cleanest I've stayed in around Fatih, and the price is fair if you're travelling on a budget. I've attached photos, thanks.
