ISG Sabiha Gokcen Airport Hotel - Special Class

The room was big, and it was nice enough, but I expected more for an expensive airport hotel. There’s only one slow elevator for all the rooms on the floor, and the only toiletries were soap. It’s actually a bit far to walk to the airport, and there was no shuttle as described. Service depended on who was working, and breakfast was disappointing, with very few hot choices. If you don’t eat cheese or sliced meats, there isn’t much to choose from. No coffee machine, no fried eggs, just overcooked eggs and a strange omelette. They wouldn’t make fried eggs when asked, which many hotels do. I can see why we never stay there. Miracle, mövenpick, or basically any other nearby hotel is better. We thought this was a clever choice and a good deal this time, but I’d never pay more.

Being right at the airport was the main advantage, just a three-minute walk to the departure and arrival entrances. We were given a smoking room because nothing else was available, and it smelled of smoke. Although it was for two, there was just one mug and one glass. We ate at the hotel restaurant, which stays open until 2am. The bread was stale and very hard. The halloumi and goat cheese salads were fresh, but both needed more dressing.

The food was tasty, and the place was clean and comfortable. It’s close enough to the airport to walk there in a few minutes. I skipped breakfast because it was too expensive. They should offer a cheaper option with less food.

Our flight from Oman to Istanbul was cancelled on the day we were meant to travel because of the Iran conflict. We only asked to move our booking to a later date, not for a refund, but they said policy wouldn’t allow it. There should have been some kindness during such a stressful time. They were very unkind, and I don’t recommend staying here.
