Istanbul Palace Hotel

At night the staff in room 102 made noise and slammed doors, then reception told me to quiet my child. Cigarette smoke from that staff room was strong, and the room we were given had no window. That felt unsafe with my pregnant wife and our four-year-old. The door to our room was left wide open one evening, exposing our belongings, and the staff only apologized. Cleaning wasn’t done daily and bathroom essentials were missing. Breakfast was included, but we never received it and weren’t told the schedule at check-in. The booking listed an electric kettle, coffee, and tea facilities, but none were provided. I was also concerned about the electrical risk. I’m asking for urgent intervention and compensation for this unacceptable stay at Istanbul Palace Hotel, reservation 638504975.

The location was good, the price reasonable, and the hotel was clean. Service was excellent, especially from Mustafa at reception. A wonderful place, I highly recommend it. Goodbye.

There was no hot water, the toilet was broken, and exposed electrical wires were near the shower. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and seemed to be more than 20 years old. Rooms were filthy, with used towels and trash left behind. Staff smoked in the lobby, hallways, and rooms while cleaning. When I asked to change rooms, one employee threatened me. Staff were rude and unprofessional. I had a free breakfast but didn’t eat any of it because it was dirty, and one employee asked me for 2€ for coffee. I’ve attached some photos and have more photos and videos of the conditions. This place should be inspected, and Istanbul Municipality or the Police should take action to shut it down. If you’ve booked, cancel as soon as possible and find another hotel.

We spent three weeks there, and it felt like a waste of money. For four days we had no bathroom in our room because they only then remembered the hotel needed repairs. When we did have it, the bathroom and toilet flooded and water was everywhere, with no slippers provided. Breakfast was often left out. Getting the room cleaned took a lot of requests, and the sheets were still stained and not properly washed. Thank goodness I’d brought my own sheets and pillowcases. The staff could be rude and nasty, and reception made things worse. If you’re planning to spend your whole stay outside the hotel, it might be a good choice.
