Istanbul Terrace Hotel

We paid 47 euros a night and had already paid in advance, so when the fridge didn't work and water from the heater leaked onto the floor, we felt we had no real choice but to accept a move to the fourth floor. They initially wanted extra money to change our room, and only moved us after we insisted. There is no elevator. Rooms that don't face the street look straight onto a concrete wall about a meter away and are extremely dark. The towels had women's hair on them, the music was very loud at night, and breakfast was extremely poor. You can find hotels hundreds of times better for less money. Don't be taken in by the high rating. Most of the positive reviews seem fake, perhaps written by the owner's friends or people connected to the hotel.

I was really impressed by how kind and helpful the owner was. I booked at a very reasonable rate, so it was excellent value, and breakfast was delicious. The woman who prepared the food was lovely, too. Wishing the business lots of success and prosperity.

Everything was within walking distance, with Kapalı Çarşı and Sultanahmet both about ten minutes away on foot. Mr. Metin made us feel welcome throughout the stay. He was always smiling and very helpful. The hotel also served an excellent breakfast with plenty of variety and good quality. I'd happily stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Istanbul.

The owner was honest and helpful, always around and ready to assist everyone. Tea and coffee are free, and breakfast was very good. There are shops, restaurants, sights, and metro, tram, and bus stops nearby. The hotel also has a terrace that anyone can use and sit on at any time. A very good hotel in an excellent location.
