Hotel Istanbul Trend

The room and beds were quite small. Housekeeping was the one real bright spot, and the hotel was clean. Breakfast was okay, nothing memorable. Service from the staff was just the bare minimum. I asked one day about using a microwave and was told it was only for staff. After our 10-day stay, we had checked out and were without internet, so we asked to use the Wi-Fi briefly to contact our airport taxi. They refused. Breakfast runs from 7:00 to 10:00, but at exactly 10:00 they start clearing the dishes without checking whether guests have finished.

We were there for six nights, and a dead cockroach on the floor stayed there from the first day to the last. The hostility from everyone was awful, and most of the staff didn't speak English. Checkout was the worst part. We were an hour late, but our luggage was already downstairs and we were just sorting a few last things. Someone knocked on the door so hard it seemed urgent, then screamed at us to get out at the top of his lungs. I'm not joking. If we're late, we're willing to pay a late fee, but we've never been disrespected and humiliated like that. After yelling at the door, he kept shouting about us to someone else in Turkish. This is the worst hotel experience I've had, and this is only a small part of it. I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. If I could give less than one star, I absolutely would. Don't go here.

The location was good, near exchange offices and the tram station, and reception was very kind and helpful, especially the girl who looked more Persian than Turkish. It was my first time booking here, in a single room. The rooms were clean and well serviced, though the space was kind of small.

The hotel’s waiting area is so inviting you could fall asleep there. My room was elegant and beautiful, the staff were very nice, and the morning food was really good.
