Momento Golden Horn Hotel

The lobby team were professional and helpful, and the location worked well for the places we wanted to see on our first trip to Istanbul. It’s on a busy road with little scenery, though. A few blocks uphill toward the tower, the neighborhood gets much quieter and prettier. We picked the hotel for the views, but our fourth-floor room looked straight at an ugly six-story storage building. The views seem to be limited to the upper-level restaurant and bar, and even hotel guests need reservations to use either. Breakfast was frustrating. There’s no self-service coffee or tea, and we’d finished eating before anyone asked what we wanted to drink. We ordered cooked eggs but never got them. The buffet attendant was busy on her phone, chatting with coworkers, and taking photos of the food instead of looking after guests.

Getting around was easy, with the tram, train, and ferry all close by. The staff were responsive on WhatsApp, and when we had booked the wrong dates, the hotel caught it, refunded us, and let us rebook the right ones without hassle. Our first-night blind problem was also sorted quickly by moving us to another room the next morning. The rooms were tidy and looked after, but quite cramped for two people. We were glad to have a top-floor room, since the view was stunning. The price was disappointing, though: we realized afterward that we’d paid nearly double the going rate because of the war. Service was lovely. It was my birthday, and manager Seedat arranged a cake at breakfast; the staff sang to me, which was a thoughtful surprise. Seedat and Serken were accommodating throughout. We had a good stay thanks to the service and location, though the small room was a drawback.

Housekeeping kept my room tidy, clean, and comfortable for all 9 nights. Mr. Sinan helped with my luggage and made arriving and leaving easy. I’m grateful to Mr. Sedat for his steady support and professionalism, and to Ms. Sila for bringing such a cheerful, positive attitude whenever she came for room service. The hospitality and overall service at Hotel Momento Golden Horn were excellent. I had a really pleasant stay and recommend it.

The breakfast had lots of choice and was delicious, and the location made it easy to explore Istanbul. Our room was spotless, modern, and comfortable. The staff were friendly and professional from the moment we arrived, and Hotel Momento Golden Horn had a lovely atmosphere. We had an incredible stay and would recommend it.
