Mövenpick Hotel Istanbul Marmara Sea

The hotel was stunning, with amazing rooms and phenomenal attention to detail. I also enjoyed the gym, pool, and spa. We flew with Turkish airlines, and because our layover was over 20 hours, the airline covered a complimentary hotel stay. The taxi ride here was about £30, and it was about the same going back to the airport. Couldn't fault the hotel, and I'd definitely recommend it.

The bar could use some attention. It felt below the level of service and warmth I expect from a five-star hotel, and the signature cocktails were below average. The rest of our stay was pleasant, with modern, new accommodation and attentive staff. We did have to wait 1.5 hours for our room even though we arrived ahead of schedule and had requested early check-in by email several weeks earlier. That email never received a reply, despite my Platinum membership.

The sea view from our BB room was lovely, and breakfast each morning had plenty of choice. The stay felt relaxing, and I enjoyed my second visit to Movenpick Marmara even more than the first. Mrs. Goncagul at reception was kind, attentive, and professional, which made our time there very enjoyable. The morning cleaner on the 11th floor also did a great job, even making lovely shapes with our towels.

Yasemin’s warmth and positive attitude made a real difference to our stay. Whenever we saw her, she greeted us with a genuine smile and checked that everything at our table was just right. She was efficient, quick to help, and always attentive. From our first meeting, she was welcoming and professional, and she often went out of her way to make things enjoyable. Her dedication and kindness were easy to notice. The hotel is lucky to have her, and we hope other guests get to experience her service too.
