Navan Hotel

I'm here now, on the fifth floor, and getting up and down a spiral stairwell that reeks of cigarettes and urine, with shag carpet covered in what looks like vomit, is a nightmare. I have a medical condition and need to climb those stairs ten times a day to get food and reach my clinic. The rooms are trashed, the bedding is filthy, and the toilets aren't kept clean. The walls are so thin I can hear TVs, and a Dance School next door blasts the same song for hours through stadium-grade speakers. Every door uses the same cartoon key, and mine is broken, so there's zero security. I take all my valuables with me whenever I leave, ten times a day. My wife couldn't travel. I'm glad she didn't come, because I'd have been ashamed to bring her to any of these rooms. Total guetto. I don't get all the 5-star reviews. Buyer beware!

For the price, I was glad I stayed here, especially in Istanbul in 2025. Shops, restaurants, places to eat, and sightseeing spots are all close by. The staff were kind and really helpful. My room had AC and a mini fridge. I was on the third floor and found the Nevan3 wifi gave a strong connection, which mattered because I needed to work while traveling.

We arrived at half past midnight with a prepaid Evento reservation from the Google Maps ad. The owner at reception said the hotel was full and they no longer partnered with Evento. Since I'd already been charged, I asked for a refund, but he blamed Evento and said he didn't get the money. He said refunding guests misled by Evento would cost him a lot. He told us to contact their customer service, but they were closed, then offered us the reception couch for the night. After an hour of arguing, I gave up on a full refund and just wanted somewhere to sleep. We agreed to “split the loss,” which felt more like us accepting half the scam. He returned 430 TRY and helped call nearby hotels, but didn't offer to help pay. We found one with availability and had to pay for it ourselves. Always call Turkish hotels directly before booking through third-party sites. Sus.

I spent 9 nights at the Navan hotel. The room and bed linens were very clean, and there was plenty of daylight. The owner welcomed me warmly, and the hotel is close to a Metro station. In general, it was great value for the money.
