Mahmut was the standout for us. He was kind, attentive, and ready to help, and we felt well looked after throughout our stay. Nea Suites Old City is right in the old city, close enough to walk to many of Istanbul’s best-known sights. Everything went smoothly from arrival onward, and we had a wonderful visit. We’d gladly stay there again and recommend it to anyone coming to Istanbul.

The room was spacious and very clean, just as it looked in the listing photos, and actually seemed bigger than the pictures suggested. The shower was powerful and hot. Before check-in, the hotel messaged me on WhatsApp to ask if I needed anything to make my stay more comfortable. You can see the tram stop from the front door, about 20 steps away, and the train station is also very close. Street noise can be an issue. For my first visit to Istanbul, I’d still recommend it.

The top-floor room was quiet, and the area is a busy one. The location is good, but there’s no breakfast. MADO was the only option I found, since the other restaurants were very expensive. With kids, the spot may be a concern: there’s barely four feet between the apartment entrance gate and the tram tracks. The entrance is very small, and the lift starts on the first floor and goes up to the sixth. The hotel staff helped carry my luggage to the room.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room was spacious and cleaned every day. It’s a nice little hotel close to Istanbul’s famous sights. The main drawback is the noise: the tram beneath the window starts running at 6:30 in the morning.

We stayed six nights and would happily return. The personal service was great, and the rate was excellent. Our room was large and well equipped, in this small boutique hotel with just seven rooms. It’s right in the old city, close to lots of attractions, and public transport is easy to access.
