Obelisk Hotel

I had a wonderful stay at Obelisk Hotel Sultanahmet from Feb 11th to 13th. The staff were flexible and kindly let me check in early and check out late, which made the trip much smoother. The room was beautiful, modern, and very clean. The location is hard to beat, very strategic and just a short walk from the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. The price was very reasonable for the friendly service and high cleanliness standards. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Istanbul.

That 2:30 a.m. trip back to the airport was easy to arrange through the hotel. The private luxury shuttle cost 50 euros and seemed quicker than the Havaist bus. I only wish our 22-hour Istanbul layover had left more time to explore, especially with a little bazaar and tasty restaurant across the street, shops nearby, and Hagia Sofia just a 5-6 minute walk away. We got to check in a few hours early, and the man at reception was kind and spoke English well. The building was clean and updated. Our room was on the small side, but comfortable and clean enough for two people and a couple of bags. The shower was refreshing, though there was no conditioner, so bring your own if you need it. The AC worked great, even for a summer stay. The elevator is there, but only fits two people with luggage. I’m glad we chose Obelisk. I’d recommend it for a reasonably priced stay in a really convenient spot.

We spent the days after Christmas and New Year here with our family. The staff were friendly and fantastic, and the connecting rooms worked really well for us. They’d be handy for larger families or anyone travelling with kids. The location made exploring Istanbul easy, with most places within walking distance. Highly recommend it.

We were 30 Malaysians travelling together, staying in 15 rooms at Obelisk Hotel on October 23 and 24, 2025. The rooms, rates, and location all suited us well, and the chef and his assistant kindly seated the whole group for breakfast together. Boiled eggs were popular, and after our group quickly finished the first batch, the chef thoughtfully made extra the next morning. After a long flight and a full-day tour, everyone was exhausted, but Mr. Zeki handled our chaotic check-in very professionally. Mr Serkan was also very helpful. Arranging things with Mr. Yunus over WhatsApp was pleasant too, he stayed responsive and helpful throughout. We strongly recommend this place!
