Hotel Ozbek

Our trip to Turkia was great, but this hotel ruined a day of it. The place was filthy and seemed to be under renovation or out of order, and the bidet wasn’t working. We had booked through Agoda and paid ahead for two nights, but left and found another hotel instead. The location was bad too. I’d say Kadikoy or Istiklal are better areas to stay.

Agoda made an already awful stay even worse. I was recovering from knee surgery, yet they had me check in for five days while construction was happening on every floor. The owner and staff seemed careless and only interested in taking your hard-earned money. When customer service called, they claimed they couldn’t speak English to avoid responsibility, and the agent didn’t take accountability either.

We’d paid the full amount online a month ahead, but still ended up changing hotels and staying somewhere else in the area. The place felt like a nightmare. The rooms were dirty and smelly, and the bathroom fixtures didn’t work. I wouldn’t call this a hotel at all, more like a garbage storage place. Never go here.

There weren’t enough towels for each person, hygiene was poor, and breakfast was awful. We’d booked four months ahead, but on our first day they had no room for us and put us in an even worse hotel. The neighborhood also felt notorious, and we didn’t feel safe.
