Pege Hotel

For a short stay in Istanbul’s famous sultanahmet area, this can be a good bargain. It’s on a safe side street and was relatively clean, though it’s definitely not a 5-star hotel, like most places in the area. Mr. Ömer was honest and a great host. There were five of us with almost 10 suitcases, and Ömer helped us get settled and kept in touch throughout.

The owner knew Istanbul inside out and gave us excellent tips for sightseeing and places to eat. He also arranged our airport transport. We stayed five nights in March, and the hotel was clean and cozy. Its location made it easy to walk to major attractions and good restaurants.

Free parking was a real bonus for our trip by car, and the WiFi worked perfectly. The rooms were very clean, organized, and had what we needed for a comfortable stay. The location is right among the tourist sights, with all the main spots within 500 meters. Taksim Square was farther, about a 20-minute walk. We had a very positive stay and would book here.

It can be a little tricky to find, but once there, the location is great for tourist sights and public transport to farther parts of the city. The staff were helpful with transport details, things to see, and places for different kinds of food. Free parking is included. The rooms aren’t large, though they’re perfectly adequate for travelers, and they were cleaned daily with fresh towels, sheets, water, coffee, and tea. A great option for a short or longer stay.
