Sarnic Butik Hotel

The room in this old Ottoman building was spacious, and I really liked having a balcony, though it got hot during the day. At Sarnic Meyhane, the garden seems livelier, so I’d reserve a table out there. I ate indoors, which was fine, but I couldn’t see the performers or catch the waiters’ attention when I needed them. The stairs felt a little scary, and bringing luggage down was hard but manageable if you take your time. Sadly, there was no hot water in the shower.

Breakfast was good, and the hotel has a cute feel. It’s right in the middle of a pedestrian area, which is convenient, but it gets very busy. If you need a quiet night, this may not be the best fit.

We were put in a first-floor room right beside the street, with only one window between us and all the noise. The singers from the bars and the people outside were unbelievably loud. I’m writing this at 2 a.m.; we have an early flight tomorrow and the noise still hasn’t let up. I didn’t expect it to be this bad. I rarely post Google reviews, but I can assure you this is true. The owner might say the outside businesses and their customers are beyond their control, but this room simply isn’t suitable as a guest room. You’ll find it impossible to sleep.

Be careful eating at their restaurant as a tourist. My wife and I ordered a double Raki, a glass of wine, an Eleni sauce, and a small fish. I expected the total to be around 500-600 liras, but the bill came to 2490 liras, about 50€. The waiter brought two raki even though I’d ordered one, and charged around 800 liras, or 16€, for the Raki alone. The wine was 400 liras, or 8€, and I still don’t understand how he got to 50€. I’d be wary, as it seemed to me they were trying to make money Haram.
