Sehir Oldcity Hotel

The location was the only thing that stood out, and it couldn’t make up for the experience. The hotel was dirty and run-down, nothing like the photos. Our room smelled strongly of paint, the windows didn’t shut properly so street noise came in, and the bathroom was disgusting. Breakfast was awful too. Very little was edible, and the coffee was terrible. This is a hotel only for locals.

Everything’s close, with nice restaurants and good food around here. It was easy to walk to the ocean side and a beautiful park, and I went around every day. 10/10 😄

The staff and owner were very kind, but that didn’t make up for how awful the stay was. After flying in with our four kids, we found a disgusting bathroom, with filth under the toilet seat and hair in the sink. The shower was broken, and the air conditioning smelled nasty and barely cooled the room. It was 35 degrees. There was hair all over the mattress too. The electricity went out, which can happen, and we were on the top floor with a lift that wasn’t working, which can happen too. But the stairs were full of rubbish from rebuilding, and we had to climb over building materials. When we asked for our money back, we got only half. We moved to another hotel, where we loved our stay and had our basic needs met. We’re easygoing people and don’t need luxury, so it’s sad to be this disappointed. I hope they improve the hygiene. The people running the hotel really were kind, but the reviews are not true.

The location was good, but the hotel and breakfast were bad. When we went down for breakfast, they told us there were cannibals. We acted as if we hadn’t understood, even though breakfast was already included with the room. That wasn’t nice, and I was really upset. The staff were terrible apart from one kind person. I’ve forgotten his name, but I’m grateful to the blue-eyed man who was so helpful.
