Sheraton Istanbul Atakoy Hotel

We had a great view from the 19th floor in our executive premium king room, with lounge access. It was quiet, very clean, and comfortable. The AC worked well, the rain shower was excellent and powerful, and we appreciated the large bathroom and ample wardrobe and storage space. The gym was well equipped, and the metro, shops, and marina restaurants are a short walk away. We’d definitely stay at the Sheraton Istanbul Ataköy again. Ela was helpful during booking and made sure our room requirements were met. Aleyna made check-in easy, informative, and efficient, while Ece in the club lounge was attentive, courteous, and very helpful. Thank you for looking after us. A few things could be better. The curtains were difficult to open and close, and more hooks for towels and bathrobes would help, as there’s only one in the bathroom. The tour guide at recipe wasn’t helpful, so we booked the tours ourselves. Emir at the spa was helpful, but unfortunately the spa manager wasn’t. She didn’t take accountability, and in my view she was racist. Three of us were sunbathing, but she only asked me to leave because the pool was closed, even though we’d been sunbathing two days earlier. Very poor customer acumen.

The sea view from every room is beautiful, and the lobby, elevators, and especially the front desk team were great. It’s an older hotel, but the price was excellent for the location, quality, and views, so it felt like good value. The AC wasn’t very strong, though it didn’t bother me during my May stay.

We had the worst hotel stay we’ve ever had. For a place billed as a “5 star” hotel and among the most expensive in Turkey, our room was terrible. We had to change rooms three times because things were broken. The heat was stuck on, making it 90 degrees, and the water in our room was shut off for an hour every day. We were there for four days, and housekeeping never came once. Nobody answered when we called the front desk or other services from our room. The hotel also felt incredibly dated and dirty, with stains on all the room carpets. This is not a 5-star hotel. There are plenty of other hotels in Turkey that I’m sure treat customers better. So disappointing, Marriott Sheraton. Avoid it.

The hotel was clean and comfortable, and the service was outstanding. Sertaç at reception deserves special thanks for being professional, friendly, and helpful throughout my stay. He made it even better. Highly recommended!
