Stone House Ayasofya

We were four guests and got three blankets. When we asked for another, they didn’t have one, but they gave us thick sheets that partly solved the problem. The room was smaller because a new wall had been added by the staircase. That may help privacy, but the photos didn’t show it, so I’ve added new ones. The bathroom was clean and neat, though it smelled and had insufficient exhaust. The balcony view was 4/5, as were the location and value for money. Staff attitude and response were 5/5, amenities 4/5, room comfort 3/5, and washroom 2/5.

The room didn’t look like the website photos, although I’d liked its design and furniture when booking. We couldn’t open the window, and the toilet flush button didn’t work. Fixing these took hours, so we stayed in instead of going out. The apartment clearly hadn’t been cleaned before we arrived, and some towels were dirty. A woman came to clean on either the second or third day.

The apartment is in good condition and looks just like the pictures. Hasan is a very good host. The bedroom AC wasn’t working, but Hasan fixed it, so we didn’t have any real trouble. It’s near a park in a very nice neighborhood. The tram station is far away and uphill, which could be an issue, but it didn’t stop us from exploring. Definitely recommended.

We’d booked this hotel for 8 nights, but left the same day we arrived. The rooms were dirty, with mold on the walls, and the floor and table felt sticky and grimy. Wi-Fi didn’t work, and it was really loud outside. The host said he’d return the money through booking, but after I requested it three times, I still hadn’t received a refund.
