Taksim Prelude Hotel

The location was exactly what we wanted, but we wouldn't recommend staying here. The entrance and lobby photos are very misleading. Our two-bed room was tiny and dusty, with a broken phone, TV, and outlet by the bed. None of those were fixed, and there was no regular cleaning unless we asked. The towels were threadbare and had holes. The two gentlemen were kind, though a little odd at times, and seemed very limited in what they could do.

Cheap, well located, and the staff were friendly. The room was pretty clean overall, and the AC worked well. But the light kept flickering, the bathroom door was faulty, and the minibar handle was broken. Nobody cleaned during our four nights.

The noise at night was awful. We kept jumping out of bed whenever someone yelled inside or outside the hotel. In our three-day stay, the room was cleaned only once, after we pushed hard for it. They didn't fix the broken room phone or the AC controller either. We had to go down to the lobby to speak to someone whenever we wanted the AC turned on or off, and even asking for a toothbrush got the response that they had run out. We had booked a “Double Or Twin Superior room,” but the receptionist said they could only give us twin beds then, and we'd have to pay extra for a double. My wife and I slept about a meter apart for all three nights. The room itself was very small, and the lobby was tiny too, with just three small sofas. For a place calling itself four-star, the service and facilities were poor. Even two stars feels generous. I would never stay here again. I also suggest avoiding hotels around Taksim Square, since many of them seem similar.

The price was affordable, and the staff were really pleasant. A good hotel for the money.
