The Tango Hotel Taksim

The hotel is in a great location, and Matin made the stay memorable. He welcomed us warmly from the moment we arrived, always ready to help with a sincere smile and a positive attitude. He clearly cares about guests and went beyond simply being helpful. People like him make a real difference. I’d recommend staying here and would happily come back. Thank you, Matin, for the wonderful hospitality!

The staff were attentive, friendly and helpful throughout, and the location was really convenient. Breakfast was delicious, and the place felt clean and comfortable. Everything was better than I expected. I’d gladly stay here again and recommend it.

The rooms and corridors smelled of cigarette smoke, and the reception area was smoky too because the receptionist kept going out to smoke. The breakfast room was in an unappealing, disgusting basement. The photos on Booking.com and Google didn’t match the actual hotel. This place lacked hygiene, sanitation, proper sleeping facilities and cleanliness. It did not feel safe, and I would not recommend it to families or travelers. I’d give it 0 stars if I could. Getting there by airport transfer was difficult for large vehicles, as there was no drop-off. The reception was dim and unwelcoming. Furniture was dirty and haphazard. In the room, the beds were dusty, the pilling sheets were itchy, the toilet was awful with a dirty sink and no strainer. The old, discoloured hairdryer smelled of smoke. The dented stainless steel bins wouldn’t open. There were no facial tissues, the TV didn’t work and neither did the phone to reception. We got hand towels instead of bath towels; when bath towels were provided, they had holes and frayed edges. Pictures of people dancing Tango covered the room, which I found very unappealing. I had asked for a king-sized bedroom based on the size shown in the pictures, but the actual room was extremely small and couldn’t fit two suitcases.

The location is very good, and reception staff were polite and helpful. Breakfast is basic and only served during a two-hour window. The hotel is really old, though, and the rooms need serious renovation.
