Tayhan Hotel

I stayed three nights, and the room wasn't cleaned daily. Breakfast was the same each day. The air conditioner was old, loud, and didn't work properly in the hot weather. On the day I checked in, the receptionist was extremely unhelpful when my Turkish friend's booking was unexpectedly cancelled just hours before he was due to arrive. I got no reasonable explanation from the receptionist and no apology from the manager. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone who cares about good service.

The staff were friendly and polite, and the building has been renovated well and is clean, though it's old. The walls between rooms are thin, so there's no sound insulation. Breakfast was limited but fine to start the day. It's in a convenient spot near lots of tourist places, and I'd recommend it as a budget hotel for a few nights.

It's a nice, inexpensive place for a trip, close to transport, Bim, clothing stores, restaurants, and snack shops. The rooms get a moderate clean each day, and the breakfast buffet is good enough for everyone to eat. I didn't see customers treated in a racist way. The staff are split, though: three speak English, French, and Arabic, and even try other languages, while the other three only speak Turkish and are very shabby in how they talk.

Decent rooms, fair prices, and really good service.
