We stopped here for lunch and really enjoyed the food. The staff were very friendly, and Enes stood out as a cheerful guy who spoke good English. Watching them prepare the traditional dish was quite a show. Happy to recommend it.

Enes is the one to look for if you want friendly service. The place is a good choice for Ottoman food, and the Testi kebab was delicious. Bringing it to the table was a great little show too.

I was staying in the suites at First Ottoman suites, so trying the restaurant seemed an obvious choice. It looks lovely inside, with a great atmosphere and live musicians, at least on the weekend. The staff were attentive and friendly. The food looked impressive, and the jar cooked meat and vegetables dish had a magical presentation, but its taste didn't live up to what I expected. Even the lentils were watery.

The cocktails were delicious, and we had a fabulous halva for dessert. We didn't try any of the food, so can't comment on that. It's a fun place in Kumkapı, with friendly staff, a warm atmosphere, and great music. Highly recommended. Thanks especially to Selim and Enes (:

Dinner here turns into an evening out, and leaving was somehow the hardest part. The lounge has lively, good vibes and works well for families. The fiery chicken had just the right heat, and the grilled seabass and mezze made for a feast with an Ottoman feel rooted in the culture. It's the sort of Istanbul spot that stays with you after the trip.
