The Old Ottoman Castle

We loved our first-night date here in Istanbul and were so glad we chose this place. The atmosphere was great, and the food and service felt fantastic and authentic, like you really were in Turkey. The food was delicious, and they make the coffee in the sand!

The rooms were clean and comfortable, and surprisingly quiet despite the nightlife on the street. Their layout is unusual, though, and the rooms weren't quite as advertised. The hosts were friendly and helpful. It's an easy walk to tourist attractions, and I’d stay again, just don't expect Holiday Inn.

The location at the Ottoman castle is perfect, with lots of shops and mosques nearby. I stayed almost a week, but the cleaning service was appalling. I called reception because the cleaner hadn’t come even once, and my poor boy had become sick overnight. When she finally arrived, she refused to clean and walked away. Later, we had to ask for cleaning products and do the rooms and bathroom ourselves. It was upsetting not to get a service we’d paid for.

The room was only okay for cleanliness, and the noise was awful. Loud neighbors could be heard all night. We were sent here after being told our original room across the street had flooded, which I believe was a lie. The balcony door lock was broken, so I didn't feel safe leaving valuables there. If noise bothers you, avoid this place and the surrounding area.
