The Omiya Hotel

After walking around Istanbul, I really appreciated how peaceful the area was in the evenings and at night. The Blue Mosque and other famous sights are about a 10-minute walk away. My room was spotless and comfortable, with clean towels, slippers, shampoo, soap, and extra pillows ready. It felt like the staff had thought about the little things that make a stay comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, with lots of fresh choices each morning. The staff were kind, very polite, and ready to help. They answered my questions before I arrived and let me check in early, which I appreciated. The Omiya Hotel in Sultanahmet is cozy, clean, and welcoming, and I’d happily stay again and recommend it to anyone visiting Istanbul.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and I’d definitely stay here again. The rooms are modern, compact, and nice, with a cute little balcony and soundproofed windows. It's easy to get around Fatih from here, including Hagia Sofia and the Bazaar, and Galata is an easy 30 minutes away.

When I arrived at the hotel at night, I found out there was no room for me. They told me the reservation had been canceled because of plumbing problems, and that they had sent a message the day before check-in. I hadn't expected a cancellation so late and didn't see the message. It said they could find me another room, but I think they should have looked for an alternative before contacting me. The receptionist told me to search for a room on booking.com myself, even though I felt this was their responsibility. I eventually asked them to find an alternative, but I was unhappy with how they handled it. My first trip to Türkiye was ruined, and I was very disappointed.

Thank you to the reception staff for such a warm welcome. You were excellent! We’ll definitely visit again on our next trip to Istanbul. 👌🏻
