The Tram Karakoy Hotel

We spent five nights at Triada Hotel Karakoy and had a good stay. The location and atmosphere are strong points, and the staff were friendly and helpful whenever we had questions. Check-in and checkout went smoothly, and breakfast was good. The price felt fair for the service. It may not suit you if you’re after a luxury hotel, but it’s a solid choice if you want a good location and good vibes.

The hotel looks pretty in the photos and has a great location, but I’m really disappointed in the management. I had a standard non-refundable booking, as I did for seven hotels during my trip in Turkey. The booking site lets you request a refund if the hotel agrees, so I explained that my country was under attack, we were heading into war, and there were no flights. Six of the seven hotels were very cooperative. Some refunded me, while others offered to move the booking to a date within six months. This hotel wouldn’t cooperate. I’d booked it very cheaply, and now it’s full and costs twice as much, so I’m sure cancelling my booking wouldn’t have affected them.

Room 205 in the annex was too noisy from the street. Also, if you stay in that building, you need to walk over to the main building for breakfast. That breakfast was the thing I most wanted to praise: for this price range, the food was very good quality, fresh, and made in the top-floor kitchen. Thanks to the kitchen crew for the fresh food and wide choice. The location is convenient, with the tram and ferry just a short walk away. The area also isn’t on a hill, so you don’t have to walk up and down all the time. Shops and convenience stores are only a few minutes away.

The location was perfect, and both the staff and manager were friendly. My room was clean and comfortable, so I had a great stay and would definitely recommend the hotel.
