For £26 a night in August 2025, this was absolutely fine and great value for such a prime location. My partner and I are backpacking, so it worked for us, and the staff were incredibly friendly, smiling and ready to help whenever we needed something. I'd say it's good for what it is, though not the place for a luxury stay. The location is undeniably strong, with a supermarket up the hill, easy access to the centre, public transport, and attractions. The rooftop view is amazing for sunsets, and there's an adorable cat who hangs out there. The hotel feels tired and could use a lift. The rooms are old, the mattresses and pillows lumpy, and both bathrooms we used leaked from the tap, shower, or both. We had to switch rooms because the shower in our basement room flooded badly. Housekeeping was all over the place: some days we got three towels each, other days just one, and the room wasn't cleaned every day. We weren't bothered, though I'm sure they'd clean if asked. I'd give it 3.5 stars if I could.

The owner was humble and kind, which made the stay feel special. The price was very good, and my room had a balcony, a nice bonus. Everything was clean, and the central location put almost everything close by. I had a lovely stay and highly recommend it!

My room was amazing and everything was so clean. I love this hotel, everyone was kind and helpful. It's close to the Blue Mosque, too. Thanks to everyone for a lovely trip in Istanbul!

I only stayed one night. The high-end room felt worth the three-star rating, with a great Bosphorus view straight through the French door balcony window. The beds were comfortable, though they might suit shorter people best. The shower had very good water pressure.

The only good part was the Bosphorus view. We booked through a tourist company that hadn't checked the reviews, and we wound up at Theodian hotel. The room we had booked was smaller than the pictures suggested, had no windows, and smelled bad. We were moved to a standard room for a higher price, but its toilet was broken and the windows were strange. I wouldn't recommend staying here for long.
