I first found this hotel in 2018, and have stayed here on every Istanbul trip since. It feels like coming to a second home. Topkapı is now calm, beautiful, and green, after the recent urban renovation outside. The hotel itself has also had restoration work over the last few years, including new bathrooms and other improvements. It’s ideally set outside the busy tourist zone, with the tramway, metro, and buses all nearby, so getting around is easy. Everything is very clean, and the staff are friendly but discreet.

The location was convenient, but also quiet and peaceful, and breakfast was nice. The staff were sincerely friendly. This was the most pleasant hotel experience I’ve had, even compared with a five-star place in Kemer. Thank you so much!

The staff were very kind and helpful, and Torun deserves a shoutout for being an Angel to my dad and me. The rooms were very clean when we arrived. We had a Twin Standard Room with two beds, a TV, room service, a safe, and an acceptable bathroom with a shower, toilet, and sink. We were both very satisfied, and the hotel is REALLY CHEAP! If you book in time and catch a discount on Booking, you can stay for 30 EUROS a night. It’s usually around 200 euro. Driving here was easy on the O3 from Europe, especially compared to Istanbul’s huge traffic, which usually takes 2-3 hours. We travelled about 60km to the hotel in one hour. There was some traffic, but it wasn’t too bad. We came with our bikes, which most people won’t do, and found it easy to reach lots of places. The location is very good for all kinds of visitors, with three railway lines nearby. T1 is a tram line and M1 is a metro line, and both go to the centre. The tram gets you to European-side attractions like Sultanahmet, including the Blue Mosque, Ayasofia, Topkapı Palace, and Basilica Cistern, as well as Galata Tower, Dolhamanbançe Palace, and more. The metro can take you to the Asian side if you change at Yenikapı. Breakfast is simple: two kinds of olives, two kinds of cheese, and a boiled egg on a plate. You can also choose bread, croissants, cookies, milk with cereal, and more. Drinks include coffee, water, tea, and probably other options. Breakfast runs from 7 to 10 AM, but I recommend going as early as possible because the food is fresher.

That first welcome had a real warmth to it, and the location felt safe, unusual, and convenient. Torun Hotel is adorable and affordable. I usually avoid putting my face under hotel blankets, but the linen was so clean I buried my face in it. 110% satisfied. ⚘
