We went ten days without having our towels changed, and the rooms were messy and dirty. The owner was sly and rude, too. We had paid for one more night because our flight was late, but he made us leave a day early. We were confused at first and couldn't remember the booking right away because we'd lost the reservation papers. We eventually got it sorted, thankfully without paying extra for the night we'd officially booked in the room they forced us out of early. The owner's assistant was unpleasant and pushy. It was hard to get even extra toilet paper or anything useful from him. I absolutely wouldn't stay here. Istanbul has plenty of hotels and apartments that offer better value.

The rooms were tiny, especially the ground floor one, and ours smelled bad and had a water leak. They charged a very high price for that. This has to be one of Turkey's worst hotels. I'd rather sleep on the street than here. The owner, Mr. Mehmet, seems very sweet, but he's completely dishonest. Shame on him.

The Wi-Fi is the real drawback. It was slow and unreliable in our room, and seemed to work properly only in the lobby. Yakut is a decent option if you want simple accommodation in a handy spot, though. The hosts were really friendly, and the location by Sultanahmet Square puts you in the old town near the main tourist sights. There's a shuttle bus from the new Istanbul airport straight to Siltanahmet Square, so getting there is convenient. Our room was basic but clean.

I wasn't fond of the hotel itself, but Muhsen, who runs the operations, was wonderful with us. He was kind, showed real Turkish hospitality, and helped us foreigners figure out where to go. He deserves to run the best hotel chain out there. THANK YOU MUHSEN!

Sultahn Ahmet is right in the heart of Istanbul's most visited area, and the hotel is just a five minute walk from the Blue Mosque and Ayıa Sofıa. There are plenty of restaurants, bars, and authentic Turkish shoppıng soques nearby. It felt like home, and the place was extremely clean and convenient. The booking was very affordable.
