Mr Crane Hotel

We stayed for two nights, and I can't see how this place earns four stars. The mattresses were so old I could feel each spring, and I had to search for a position where they wouldn't dig into me. Sleep was also impossible because loud music from the hotel's “bar” kept going until midnight, even with our doors and windows shut. The hotel's answer was that the music runs until midnight and nothing can be done. If you want a peaceful night, forget it. The food wasn't even mediocre for us. There were very few dishes, they tasted bad, and there wasn't enough cutlery for 50 people. When we asked for knives, we were told to wait while the ones from previous guests were washed. It sounds like a joke, but it wasn't. And after 9 pm, there was no hot water. We were told to wait “a few hours” for it to come back. This is 2023! After our experience, it's hard to believe the glowing reviews. Definitely don't recommend it. Avoid at all costs.

The location worked well for us: the hotel is on a quiet street, a few hundred meters from the city centre with shops, markets, and entertainment all walkable. There's also a bus to the beach, though it's close enough to walk. The pool was clean, there was a kids' pool, and we could always find a free sunbed. Evenings brought entertainment, including disco and live music, plus a foam party on Sundays. Make sure to go, it's fun! Our seven-night stay was great. This isn't a luxury or new hotel, and it's on the simple side, but the service is fantastic for the price. Reception speaks Russian very well, and there are English-speaking staff too. I could see how much effort they put into making the stay comfortable, and they dealt with problems right away. Rooms were nice and very clean: towels changed daily, rubbish taken out, beds made. The mattress and pillow were just right, and the air conditioning and fridge worked well. There weren't loads of food options, but you'll most likely find something to eat. If you're not picky, I can safely recommend it.

This isn't a family-friendly hotel. The music stayed loud until midnight, and although many guests complained, the hotel didn't care. Our room wasn't cleaned for five days, and there wasn't even toilet paper. Staff were disrespectful whenever we complained, which was my general impression of them. The only nice staff were the restaurant waiters. One of the worst hotel experiences I've had, and I've traveled a lot. I

The pool area was quite good, with sunbeds and a bar, and I liked the night parties that happen almost every night. Just don't bring small children who need to sleep early. The beach is a 10-15 minute walk, or you can take the hotel bus, and I liked that too. I'd recommend staying here if you don't have small children and aren't fussy about food. I only had breakfast, and it was mockingly bad, as the photos show. You can pay $20 per night to upgrade breakfast to all-inclusive, but I highly recommend you don't.
