Kiris Garden Hotel

We knew when booking that the hotel needed renovation, and the food was plain without anything special. What I couldn't accept was how little the room was cleaned during our eight-day stay. It was done just once, and my wife only noticed because of the streaks left on the floor. The trash in the middle of the room was still there, and nobody ever took it out. I asked for fresh towels every morning, but they were never changed. The toilet was leaking when we arrived. A maintenance worker came to repair it, made a mess of the whole bathroom, and dirtied the foot towel. It stayed dirty for all eight days. I've traveled extensively around India, and even with the dirt in the streets there, hotel rooms would get five stars for cleanliness beside this one. If you're comfortable living in a pigsty, Malibu is for you.

The sea isn't very close, so keep that in mind. The rooms aren't new, but they were clean. I went in with no expectations because it's a three-star hotel, and ended up pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was fresh and tasty. There's not a huge selection, but the simple, home-style dishes were good, and kids would love them. Malibu hotel was well worth the price. Thanks!

The staff were the one thing trying to make up for the hotel's many drawbacks, but it wasn't enough. Our room was old, with old plumbing, and its windows faced the music, so falling asleep early was impossible. Used dishes were left in the corridor. There was just one pool and one bar for the entire hotel, and the restaurant was small with queues for food. If you arrived late, it wasn't clear there'd be enough left. The walk to the beach was long, and there were few loungers. No beach bar either, just a soda machine. I don't understand the high ratings; to me the average should be around two or three stars.

For a cheap last-minute break where I could work on my laptop, this hotel suited me perfectly. There was Wi-Fi in the room and somewhere to get work done. The food was good for the price, even if the selection wasn't the best. It depends what you're after, but at this rate I'd give it five stars.
