Parla Park Hotel

The room was very clean and the price was good. Breakfast was a very good traditional spread.

I booked on hotels.com after checking the hotel, and made sure breakfast was included. That was confirmed in the reservation. But when I arrived, the friendly receptionist said that during Ramadan they only serve suhur, not breakfast. I pointed out that I'd specifically booked a room with breakfast, and he said they'd forgotten to remove that option from the site. Breakfast was part of what I paid for, usually with an extra fee, but nothing was provided. I'd arrived late and just wanted to rest. Should a paying guest have to argue about a meal that's already been paid for? Isn't this fraud? This is insane. You can't charge people for a service you don't provide. The receptionist offered me a bigger room because he really wanted to help, so credit to him. I was on my own and didn't need the extra space, though. He was only an employee.

It's a nice hotel for relaxing and the price is good. The location is lovely and the rooms are clean and warm, though the showers are very cramped.

There’s plenty around the hotel for everyday needs, and parking wasn’t a problem, though it’s far from the centre. The hotel itself is very clean and orderly. Breakfast is served at the cafe downstairs, with the same fixed menu every day, so you’re stuck with the same items. If the cafe is busy, expect to wait 10-15 minutes, so plan your checkout around that. There isn’t really a lobby where you can sit for tea, coffee, and a chat, which was a downside.
