Arura Mardin

The views are gorgeous, and the team are lovely. Special thanks to Helene. It's a superb hotel in the heart of the old town, close to the historical sights, restaurants, and shopping. We highly recommend it and will be back.

Faruk Bey and the whole team made our time in the stone city of Mardin feel seamless. They carried our bags and personally guided us through the maze-like old city. The culinary team is fabulous, too. The architecture and design fit the city's historic character, and sitting on the terrace with local wine and that view of the green Mesopotamian fertile crescent was an incredible feeling. I highly recommend Arura as a place to stay in Mardin and a must-see.

Getting there takes a little effort, since it's tucked into the backstreets and you can only reach it on foot. Once there, you get beautiful rooms, outdoor terrace seating, and a lovely view across the Mesopotamia plains. Breakfasts were wonderful and the fine dining was good, though I'd have liked more flexible choices for evening meals. Service was very friendly.

Celal, also known as Cebo, was especially welcoming and hospitable. The staff at Hotel Arura are friendly and service-minded, and really try to make you feel at home. I loved all the little spots around the property with their breathtaking views of Mardin, especially the terrace for relaxing with a drink. The meals were a pleasure, from the carefully prepared breakfast to the late evening snacks. The dishes were delicious and nicely presented. The rooms were comfortable and well equipped, while the stylish design and architectural details highlighting artworks made the atmosphere relaxing and beautiful. In the heart of Mardin, Hotel Arura combines comfort, design, and authentic architecture. I can warmly recommend it to anyone visiting.
