The receptionist had switched on the AC before we arrived, which was thoughtful because the rooms get hot in summer. Our room was comfortable for sleeping and had what we needed, but the bathroom layout was steep and awkward to use. It could be slippery after a shower and potentially dangerous at night. Getting there by car isn’t easy, and the roads are steep if you’re carrying luggage. We also saw ants and worms in the shower, in case bugs are a concern for you. That’s why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

Huseyin, who manages the property, was so friendly and helpful. The rooms have an authentic feel and were very clean, and the view over the whole Mesopotamia plain was excellent. I had a really pleasant stay and would come back.

It was -5 degrees Celsius outside at night, and there was no heating in our room. It was so cold that we slept in our coats and hats, and we couldn’t shower because of the temperature. I messaged the host asking for help with heating but got no reply. Unfortunately, I can’t recommend this hotel.

The triple room was especially handy, with its own kitchen area and fridge. Our room was large, clean, and comfortable, and the staff were friendly. It’s a very nice hotel in a good location. Highly recommended.

The location worked well, with the old city bazaar just an 8 minute walk away. Omar and Azad met me late in the evening and were incredibly friendly and helpful. My room was clean and bright, with a lovely bathroom and toilet, and the bed was spacious and comfortable. The aircon had both hot and cold settings, which was great for heating during my winter visit. I’m only staying one night, which is a shame.
