Amore Hotel

I've never experienced anything like this. The place was terrible, and I don't understand why they accept guests. The room wasn't clean at all, and there wasn't even a bottle of water. The bathroom light was broken. They said breakfast started at 8 a.m., but there was no breakfast, and nobody responded because the staff were asleep. There was no one around, and two employees were lying on the lobby couches. Calling this a hotel seems wrong, it was worse than a guesthouse or hostel.

Marmaris is beautiful, but I'd strongly suggest picking somewhere that provides the basics and values its guests. During our week at Amore Hotel, there was no hot water once, despite our raising it repeatedly, and nothing was done. Cold showers every day aren't acceptable for a hotel advertising basic amenities. The WiFi was barely usable and kept dropping, which was frustrating every day. What really spoiled it was the manager's response when we asked for help. He showed no interest and said we could find another hotel, but not at his expense. No apology, effort, or accountability.

I was much more pleasantly surprised than I expected after reading the reviews. I was sceptical when I booked and even tried to switch hotels before arriving, but couldn't find somewhere else that suited me. There is a pool, the breakfast is standard, and the restaurant food is good. The shower isn't hot, though it's usable. The female receptionist spent most of her time on her phone at reception. I'd definitely stay again. My one concern was children running and screaming in the corridors at 1.30am.

The hotel looks beautiful, but the lift can be dodgy sometimes. More seriously, it has bed bugs, and management don't care when told. Please be careful bringing your things home after staying here. Bed bugs are hard to get rid of, and it can take up to two weeks before you notice bites. Some staff are plain rude and just stare at you. Breakfast choice is horrid, better to eat out. There's no swimming pool, though you can use the one at the hotel next door after 12:30pm. There is no air conditioning included, they ask £50 for a week if you want it. WiFi only works in the lobby, not the rooms.
