Berry Bella Hotel

I won’t stay here again. The hotel is poorly run, and the only people I found genuinely nice were the lovely, polite women at the spa. My room was unclean and hadn’t been properly done. The manager even told me she’d ask the cleaners to pay more attention, so I don’t understand why the response to my complaint said something different. I was lined from the back of the hotel to the front by the pool, and I’m not sure whose records they used. If that was supposedly because of noise, it would have been noisier there. I also fell at the front step by the restaurant after breakfast at 9am. The claim that drinking caused it makes no sense: I don’t drink, apart from Turkish tea or coffee, or Red Bull. The bar men were also disgusting to watch, sitting and flirting with young girls who could be their daughters. I felt the hotel lied in its response and tried to cover its back.

This was my third stay, and I’d recommend the hotel. It’s in a perfect location, with a lovely, always-clean pool and amazing staff, as always. The rooms could use a little updating, but otherwise it’s a lovely place.

The dated rooms are the only thing that lets this hotel down. I understand a refurbishment is planned for the end of the season, and that should make it a fabulous place. Our room was clean, worked perfectly, and the friendly cleaners did a really good job every day. The location is perfect, and the staff were brilliant with the children, doing everything they could to make sure they were having a great time. We had the best holiday thanks to the hotel and its team, and we’ll definitely come back.

Apart from one upsetting incident, my stay at Anastasia was very good. On the first night there was a mix-up with our rooms, but the staff handled it well and everything went smoothly afterwards. The manager was also very nice when I raised my concern. A few days in, I found out that Fatma, a staff member I’d never spoken to beyond ordering food, had been spreading rumours and saying unkind things about my personality. Later she asked someone I was staying with how many people were on holiday with us and referred to me as “the fat one.” I’d already been put off eating when she served me because I thought her hygiene was poor, so hearing that she was talking about guests was shocking. I’ve never experienced anything like this at another hotel. The rest of the staff were very nice and hygienic. I’d planned to return to Anastasia next year, but I won’t if Fatma still works there. This behaviour towards guests shouldn’t happen, and it’s damaging Club Anastasia’s name. Whoever handles recruitment should look into it. If Fatma is still employed by Anastasia, I’d strongly advise people not to go.
