Dostlar Hotel

The staff were friendly and polite, and breakfast was very good. The room itself was fine, though I don't think ashtrays should be provided since they encourage smoking indoors and can bother non-smokers. Even with that concern, the hotel was better than I expected. Thank you.

The lack of a lift was the one thing that brought my rating down. Our family room was on the second floor, reached by three flights of stairs. Parking on the street was easy, and there were a couple of good places to eat nearby. We tried the Cigeri Dogan shops, where the locals go for barbecue kebabs with bread and accompaniments. We were in town to visit Tarsus. The hotel sits on the edge of the city, which worked for us. Staff were very friendly and did our laundry and helped however they could, even though they didn't speak English, which we hadn't expected in a less touristy area. Breakfast was a good Turkish spread, with cooked vegetables and spiced eggs.

The room had a smell of cigarette smoke. Otherwise, it was clean, the staff were nice, and breakfast was pleasant, though nothing special. The price seemed about normal for the area.

We stayed here in October. It's not right in the center, but the area was still convenient, with cafes, playgrounds, banks and other places nearby. We liked the service and had no problems.
