The lake setting was lovely, and even my standard room had a partial lake view. My room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the breakfast was the best I had at any hotel I stayed in Turkiye. Nobody spoke English, but we managed to communicate fine. I couldn’t find the place on the major booking sites, so I checked availability on a Turkish site and just showed up.

I only ate at the restaurant, I didn’t stay at the hotel. There’s a nice lake view, and they can call a taxi boat for you when you’re finished. We tried two kinds of lake fish, catfish and possibly Turna. The catfish was tasty and not very different from sea fish. The other had a distinct taste, unlike what I’d expect from a normal fish. I nearly gave four stars because service in the enclosed restaurant area felt neglected, though the staff are good.

The old building is beautiful, and the lake view from the terrace and the balcony of room nr 8 is wonderful. Our room was spotless and tastefully furnished. We had dinner on the terrace, then a very generous breakfast the next morning. The host and service were friendly, and the price felt fair for what we got. The only small drawback was that the Wi-Fi didn’t work inside the hotel, though it worked fine on the terrace.

The food gets five stars from me. Breakfast is included, and the older staff member who cooks makes it taste homemade and authentic, like grandma’s cooking. It’s in a village area, and the food is really on point. The room is more like three stars: it smelled, and several things were broken. The staff are nice and helpful, but they don’t speak English, so have a translator app handy.
