Barika Park Termal Hotel

The thermal pool was freezing, and people came out of it shivering. The regular pool may have been called thermal, but it certainly didn't feel warm. During a power cut one evening, we sat in darkness for hours; the hotel said its generator was broken. I kept asking reception about the missing bathrobes and the broken fridge, but nobody came to the room. The bedding looked like it had never been washed, and cleanliness was a disaster. Meals were mediocre at best, and despite full board we were charged extra for water at dinner. The place felt more like a big guesthouse than a hotel. Since we'd paid in advance, we couldn't leave, and the kids were counting down until we could go. It was a nightmare. I wouldn't recommend staying here at any price.

The rooms were a mess, the reception staff were rude, and the Wi-Fi didn't work in the rooms. Even a cup of hot water in the restaurant cost 20 lira, presumably because lots of people eat ramen, but still. They lent me shower towels at first, then charged me a dollar when many people wanted them. The hot spring water is full of limestone and comes out muddy. This is the worst place I've ever stayed.

The big swimming pool was fairly clean, but the thermal pool was small and had dirty water. The place itself is old and neglected, with badly cleaned rooms and sagging, uncomfortable beds. Staff seemed indifferent. At reception they tried to put me in the most run-down, outdated hostel section, so I didn't find them very honest.

After they messaged me, I got in touch with the company. I'd already paid for three days, so I had no choice but to stay, and I wasn't happy with any of the services. They even charged for drinking water with meals, so you can imagine the rest. They should update the place first, then advertise online and bring in customers. Advertising may be good, but I want them to be satisfied...
