Çelik Thermal & Spa

The spa was especially nice. The Balinese girls there gave a really good, professional massage. The hotel was clean and the staff were kind, so we're very happy with our stay and recommend it.

The staff were kind, professional, and clean. They'd cleaned the pool the day before, and the water was 42 degrees. I felt lucky to be there and loved it. It was actually better than the 5 star place down the road. 😒

The nearby shops mostly sell cheap plastic stuff, and the restaurants aren't much to write home about. I'd stay nearer the South Gate of Hierapolis instead. The hotel also cuts the power completely when you leave your room, so you can't leave anything charging. Opening the patio door turns off the AC, and even after you close and lock it, the AC stays off. I wanted to use the mineral pool, but just as I was going in, a whole family came out of the sauna and got straight into it without showering. The grandma was fully dressed, and there were parents and a 4 year old too. They treated the pool like a play area for the kid, who I'm pretty sure peed in it. We had laundry done, and it came back wet. Don't come expecting a nice, clean spa area. Update: I got foot fungus, and I'm 99% sure it came from this hotel.

The place itself is pretty old, and a lot of what's in the hotel feels dated. The staff were nice, though. It's one of the worst places I've stayed, and I wouldn't recommend it if you can spend more.
