Seaden Corolla Hotel

I stayed here with my child from July 5 to July 16, and it was the worst trip we’ve had. We arrived late, but couldn’t check in until 11:30 p.m. My child was tired and it was hot, yet the staff made no effort to help. I had to call the tour operator TezTour to get things moving. Once we finally got the keys, the air conditioner was broken, and the room was stuffy and smelled damp. Staff were slow and seemed indifferent. The room was shabby, with old furniture, a broken hairdryer, an empty soap dispenser and faulty outlets. Cleaning was only superficial, leaving dust, dirt and unpleasant smells behind. Linen and towels were changed rarely. Water that was supposed to be provided was either missing or limited to one small bottle for two people, which wasn’t enough. There was nothing for children or families to do, during the day or at night. Weekends were especially boring, with no activities and no attention to guests. The food was bland and repetitive, with little choice, and some dishes didn’t look fresh. There was hardly anything suitable for a child. The dining area had constant lines and dirty tables, and staff couldn’t keep up with cleaning. The grounds were poorly maintained. The pool was small and not always clean, and there weren’t enough loungers. The ones available were old and broken. The hotel’s photos and brochures show a beautiful, modern complex, but they’re heavily edited and don’t resemble the outdated building and broken facilities we saw. It doesn’t match its advertised category or star rating. We paid 2000 euros for a stay with no comfort, proper service or safe conditions for a child. It felt as if management was cutting costs on everything, including cleaning, maintenance, food, service and guest safety. As a mother, I need my child to be able to rest in comfort and cleanliness, and there was none of that here. I strongly do not recommend this hotel to families or anyone else. Choose somewhere else if you don’t want your holiday and your child’s mood ruined.

The food, rooms and staff were great. The catch is, forget sleeping before midnight, they blast German dance music from the central pool every night.

There’s a lot you have to figure out for yourself here. Nobody gives you information about the hotel, so you end up exploring all the corners on your own. Some stairs and elevators are for staff only and lead to the kitchen, but there’s no sign saying so. The internet says you get several towels, yet we got at most one each, and they weren’t clean. Towels weren’t replaced either, they were just taken away. The hairdryer didn’t always work, and our balcony door wouldn’t lock. If you book more than one room under one name, don’t expect them to be near each other. Ours were very far apart, and only after complaining might you be lucky enough to get another room. The entertainment was disappointing too. The “evening program” lasted only 20-30 minutes, followed by music we didn’t want to listen to. When guests asked for a change, the animation staff replied that nothing could be done or that they’d been working since morning and couldn’t listen to anything else. That shouldn’t be their response. I won’t book here again. For me, this is no kind of relaxation or holiday. Once was enough.

For the price, I think Seaden Corolla is a good choice. It’s very clean and has plenty of different food, which are the things I care about most. Sure, it’s a little outdated and not luxurious, but the price gives you a clue. Compared with other awful four- and even five-star hotels in Turkey, I don’t get all the negative reviews. If you want luxury, you’ll need to pay much more.
