Real King Suite Hotel

The staff were nice, and breakfast was okay with a fair number of choices. But the rooms smelled damp and weren’t cleaned well. The slippers and nylon bags in the photos belonged to someone who probably stayed in the room before us. The online advertisement is a bit misleading. I’d describe this as a fair 3-star hotel at most, so I’d suggest keeping expectations reasonably low when booking.

My family and I had a very distressing experience at Real Kind Suits Hotel in Trabzon. I’d booked three nights through Booking.com and updated my credit card details within an hour because the first card couldn’t be charged. When we arrived, the receptionist said the room had already been sold and refused to give us one. We waited over two hours without help or a solution. The receptionist was rude, blamed the “reservation department,” wouldn’t let us speak to the manager, and then cancelled the booking himself, saying it was because of card problems, which wasn’t true. When we got upset and tried to explain, he shouted, refused to help, and threw our luggage onto the road. A local taxi driver tried to reason with him, but he said, “It’s not my problem.” I also called Booking.com support on its international number for 10 minutes, but no one answered. Being treated this way with my family in a foreign country was unacceptable. The experience with both the hotel and Booking.com support was hostile and completely unprofessional. I strongly advise other travelers to stay away.

I gave it two stars only because the suite was an okay size and had hot water. The place was dirty, with grime across the floors and walls, and it looked poorly maintained and old. They’d replaced some tiles and added new faucets, but that didn’t address the obvious lack of cleanliness. The kitchen looked like a disaster and unhealthy, and breakfast was poor. I was so disgusted I slept in my clothes and couldn’t bring myself to shower. The furniture shown in my photos was in reception and also in the suite’s living area. The WiFi barely worked, cutting in and out. They didn’t provide two towels for five people. The listing mentioned a washing machine, but there wasn’t one in the suite. Be aware that the hotel photos make the rooms look much larger than they really are.

Great location in the main downtown, and the prices are unbelievable for such a good hotel. Breakfast is included and amazing. The receptionists were great and very helpful, especially Mr. Ali.
