Affair Motel

We picked this motel for the last stop on our tour because it was within walking distance of Mitsui Outlet Park at Taichung port. It was plain and simple, and we were pleasantly surprised by what we got for the money. There's a drive-in garage below the room, which also serves as the breakfast delivery point. Breakfast was only a chicken burger with iced tea. The room was spacious, but very much set up for a couple of hours of fun, with Greek or Roman styling, a bed, couch, and a loveseat that also works as a bed. The couch, loveseat, and bed linen were clean. The air conditioner was hard to program, oversized for the room, poorly maintained, dusty, and had a slight smell from a bad filter. The bathroom looked nice, but the floor wasn't cleaned well. When we showered, black flakes came loose from between the tiles. The hair dryer wasn't usable properly because the dryer part kept falling back toward the handle. In the morning, opening the roll-down curtains made it clear the room needed a better clean, maybe even a little renovation. The walls were grimy, with dark, dirty lower sections. We don't regret staying there, but wouldn't return. If you're looking for a few fun hours, though, it could be a good fit, with enough enjoyable options.
