The location was a big plus, right above a mall with plenty nearby, and the staff were quick to help when I asked for an extra blanket. Yvonne, one of the women at the bar and reception, went out of her way to assist with my requests. The place was also really clean, from the tidy rooms and common areas to the slippers you can wear around the hotel. One of my favorite stays in Taiwan, and I’d definitely recommend it if you need a good place in the area.
We really enjoyed our time at Star Hostel. The design impressed me, and the bathrooms were clean, the staff helpful, and the food delicious. One thing to keep in mind is that the elevators are shared with the mall, so they get busy and the waits can be long.
On our final night, we accidentally left a backpack on a bus and were anxious about getting it back. Mr. Chang and Mr. Chuang at the front desk were patient, professional, and genuinely caring. Even with the language barrier and little time, they did everything they could to help us recover it. Their kindness let us end the trip feeling happy and grateful. We’re very thankful to them and to Star Hostel for this thoughtful service.
Yvonne was especially kind and gave us such warm service. Be sure to try her bakery cookies and cakes. The hostel is centrally located in Taichung, has a lovely environment, and served the best breakfast I’ve ever had. I’d recommend it to anyone planning a great trip to Taichung.
Cara made my trip unforgettable. She greeted me like someone she already knew, kept up with how my stay was going, and gave thoughtful, spot-on suggestions for Taichung and beyond. Her care for the details was clear, and she treated every guest with the same professional warmth. Star is a great facility with a great team, and I highly recommend it.
